A day late...

...but I found some nature!

This cuddly little critter was in the bushes right outside my door at work. A quick bit of research revealed he is a Phidippus audax a.k.a. Daring Jumping Spider. They are distinguishable by their metallic green pedipalps and white spots on the abdomen. Daring Jumping Spiders are know for their impressive leaping ability and are thought to have the best vision among spiders. Instead of using a web to capture prey, they use their keen vision and jumping skills to pounce on an unsuspecting victim. They eat bugs, other spiders, and small animals. Their bite is painful but not dangerous to humans.
I hope you all enjoyed the pic and a little bit of science.

That's a cool ass spider but I'm with Niki!! That's if I could get to it before it jumped away :)

Looks like it got a little frost bitten.

If I saw that spider in person I would think it's a green tarantula, or something.
