New Phone

My AT&T contract finally ended so I was able to ditch my old phone. It had been broken (though technically usable) for a couple months so the waiting was agony. My plan was to get an iPhone but I did the math and realized I could save a substantial amount of money every month by adding myself to Niki's Sprint account. Not only are Sprint plans cheaper but we get a 20% discount because Niki used to work for Target. If they ever figure out Niki doesn't work there anymore, that's fine because Xerox employees get the discount too.
I'm not too disappointed about missing the iPhone bandwagon because Sprint offers the Palm Pre. The iPhone 3GS is a little faster and has a much more robust app catalog but the Pre has it's own advantages and the apps will come with time. The inability to multitask has always bothered my on my past smartphones so the Pre is a breath of fresh air. It is built around the concept of cloud computing and I am already seeing the benefits. All I had to do was enter my facebook and gmail accounts and all of my contacts and calendar info were downloaded to my phone complete with profile pictures. There are a couple features I would like to see added but those can all come in the form of software updates. My only real complaint is about battery life but the current crop of smartphones all have that problem.
I have a new phone number and will distribute it shortly by SMS.
