Religulous
Niki and I finally got around to seeing Religulous this weekend. It did an excellent job of highlighting some of the faults of religion like the utter abandonment of reason and the certitude of the pious. It also happened to be hilarious. While the main purpose may be to spread doubt in the casually religious, it was also a call to arms for closet atheists/agnostics to "come out" and speak up. Maher makes an excellent point that non-believers, according to the latest polls, make up 16% of Americans (more than Blacks, Jews, Mormons, or Muslims) yet have very little lobbying power or vocal political presence.
Religulous is an excellent movie for anybody who is disenchanted with religion and/or a fan of Bill Maher.
