Aaron and Niki in the house... no really

We ordered our house on Saturday. Unless the financing falls through, it's ours. I'm excited but very stressed. Everything seems to be going very well but there are so many things that COULD go wrong. It seems like the hardest part will be figuring out when to move. Our house should be ready by the end of September but Niki has to start school over there and has to get a job lined up and I have to transfer or find another job. And who knows when our current house will sell. Getting all the dates to converge will take a miracle.
And now for something completely different. Has anybody listened to the new Tool CD 10,000 Days? I just listened to a little of it for the first time on the way to work this morning. I think this is another one that has to be listened to at least 10 times like Gary said about Mindcrime 2. After all, I had to listen to Ænema quite a few times before I realized it was one of the best albums ever. 10,000 Days sounds more like Ænema than Lateralus did but is still a departure from their old style. The music has reverted a bit (not as Pink Floydy) but Maynard is still using the whispery subdued voice. I just want to poke him with a sharp stick so he will scream a bit.

What can I say? It's fun. And, if it gets Maynard to scream like he used to, it would be a service to humanity.

I don't have the album, but I heard mixed reviews about it. I haven't even heard Vicarious. A friend of mine named Raj really likes the new Tool, but he also loves bands like King Crimson, 70s Genesis, Yes, and Bella Fleck, so I don't know what to think. I had to listen to Laterlus about 30 times before I figured it out. I'll eventually get 10,000 Days, just like I'll eventually get the new EdGuy and new Dragonforce albums.
