Schecter in the house.... soon

After several hours of searching last night, I found the one place in the country that has the Schecter in stock. I called the Medford, MA store and got them to hold one for me until next week when I can make the purchase. Unfortunately, it's the only place in the world that charges for shipping on a guitar but I'd rather pay $40 than wait weeks or months for another store to get them. Yep, I'll be shredding the Blind Melon in no time. Now I just need to find Pick Boy.
Consequently, Dan, I need to pick up the amp this weekend. I think you need to visit sometime in March. Somebody needs to play my guitar instead of clumsily jabbing at the strings (and I need somebody to show me how to tune it!). We can go to Ed Roman and at least one of us will look like we know what we are doing.

I actually pulled out your amp last night after I messed around tuning my Floyd Rose for an hour, it sounds really good. A little bit grainy on the low end but it sounds really nice when you get off the low E string. It still sounds really good, not alot of power behind it but you are not going to want your neighbors to hear you play until you get good. I'm going to miss it. I'm very eager to play your guitar, I hear alot of great things about it. Plus, I still really like the bat inlay.

There is just one problem with you playing my guitar. You may decide you want a Schecter and Ed Roman doesn't sell them.

That's ok, the last guitar I got was a BC Rich Jr. V that they didn't have in any stores so I had to order it. You can see it here: http://www.imuso.co.uk/directory/reviews/electric-guitar-reviews/bc-rich-body-art-v.htm
I may not like the wait, but I'm used to it. Of couse, playing your guitar will limit the amount of money I lose in the casino.

I've never been a fan of the V shape (I just prefer the boring old classic shape) but that one does look very cool. I like the body art a lot.
How any guitars do you have now? I know about the Strat, the Dinky, the Kelly, and now the B.C. Rich.

No, Yama has the Strat. It was only $99 and not all that special so it's ok that he has that. It's almost worth $99 not to have to deal with him.
I have the Dinky, Kelly, BC Rich, and an acoustic. I am actually very long overdue for a new guitar. Which is why I always talk about going to Ed Romans.

Well, if I was gonna sacrifice a guitar to Yama, that'd be it. Do you play your acoustic often? If I develop any guitar skill at all, I want to get an acoustic too. I love the sound of a good acoustic in the hands of a talented player.

I had a feeling that Yama would be somehow involved in this post. Aaron, make sure you get good at tuning. One of the reasons why I stopped playing the bass is because I was not good at tuning, so I hardly ever got a good sound. Someone told me recently that I could have just tuned it with the 5th fret. I am still thinking about buying another bass.

I had no trouble at all tuning my Strat. The problem with the Floyd Rose tremolo is it becomes more difficult to tune until you get the hang of it. The good thing, however, is that you don't have to tune nearly as often because it locks down the strings. You can pull off all kinds of tricks that would normally detune your guitar pretty quickly.
You're gonna need a bass if we are going to get the band back together. The reunion tour would be pretty sad if you're playing air guitar.

Your bass should stay in tune without any problems. I don't know why you would have a problem tunning it?
The deal with the Floyd Rose is that you have a floating bridge. So the more tension on the strings causes the bridge to float upwards. So you tune the low E string perfectly, then, you tune the high E string causing more tension on the bridge, causing the once in tune low E to become out of tune. And so on. It's a tough balance to get and takes a bit of work. But as Aaron said, once you lock the strings in at the nut you are good to go for awhile.

How about we have a reunion practice, before we have a reunion tour? Maybe we can actually write more then one song this time.

I'll look into buying a new bass. I can go to Guitar Center where they will probably be having their biggest sale ever haha

I already have a half decent amp, which I hope still works. By the way, I have a lot of poetry that can be lyrics in the future. However, I am not willing to change any of the words or stanzas since they represent how I felt at the time. But obviously I can write more in the future. Just letting you guys know.

BTW, Aaron, I am not sure if you have seen Evan play the drums. He is GOOD. If I were him, I would have at least tried be a session drummer if not in a real touring band.

Dan - How many bands have you seen sell a million records with just one song? The rest is just filler. We'll just play the one song over and over and give our adoring fans what they want.

Gary - Don't go to Guitar Center... even for the BIGGEST SALE EVER. They don't sell quality stuff any cheaper than the little guys and treat their customers like crap. When you come out to Vegas we can go to Ed Roman. They have a huge selection, great prices (from what I have seen) and service you'd never get at Guitar Center. Even Sam Ash is better than GC and that's not saying much.

True, Guitar Center has the worst service ever. I bought my last bass(like 7 years ago) at an independent place in Irvine called Jim's Music.

I can go to Ed Roman if you want me to wait 2 months before getting the bass. However, I just want something simple like a Squier for $200. Here's the link as an example

Are you telling me that Guitar Center is having a sale? Probably with prices so low they can't say them on the radio.

Guitar Center is only good for one thing. To watch 15 year olds pretend they know how to play. If I hear one more person trying to play a Metallica song when I go in there I'm going to kill someone. You can get accessories there but I wouldn't recommend anything else.
Take a close look at their guitars next time, they are dirty and dinged up. The "salesmen" bang those things up all the time when they put them back on the wall. Find a store where people actually care about their equipment.

Nothing gets your blog going like guitar and possible reunion talk.
