Now that my strings have streched, some of my fine tuners were turned as far as they would go so I needed to retune from the head. With some experience under my belt and without the dread that preceded my first tuning, I was able to perform a complete retune in about 10-15 minutes (I'm guessing cuz I did not bother to time myself). It's really a piece of cake once you get the hang of it.
Dan, I will show you my technique when you visit. If you still have trouble with your BC Rich, you may need to get it set up again. I have read that tuning can be difficult to impossible if the springs are not set to the right tension or imbalanced.

Actually I have the Floyd Rose on my Jackson. I have worked out the kinks with that one. Turns out it's easier after you find your tools. Go Figure.
Don't forget to stretch out new strings before you tune them. If you do a good job they shouldn't stretch after your done tuning. I suppose it also depends on the strings you use.
On a side not you need to show me how you play Silent Lucidity.

How exactly do you stretch them? I have no idea except I know you're supposed to do it.
As for Silent Lucidity, I suck at it so you're asking the wrong guy. I have put that one on the back curner cuz I'm not ready for it. Maybe I'll get better at it before you visit (not likely). Now if you want to know how to play Blind Melon, I might be able to help you out there.

No Blind Melon. I would hate to take your "signature riff"
Conversely you cannot take my "signature riff" which is the intro Megadeth's Vortex from the Cryptic Writings album.
Why? Not sure.
Also I can't explain on here how to stretch your strings, it would get too wordy.

You can have Blind Melon. I need a new signature riff. A true musician must reinvent himself from time to time. I don't even know if I have heard Vortex. I haven't bought any Megadeth albums since Youthanasia.
On a side note, I lost my copy of Youthanasia. Anybody want to burn a copy for me?
I can wait for you to show your string stretching method in person. Unless I break a string soon, I shouldn't need to know for a while.
