Finally!

Guitar Hero II for Xbox360 hits shelves today. I will be going to the nearest Best Buy at lunch today. If only Guitar Hero could teach me how to play an F chord.

Did you end up buying the game? If so, how is it?

I did buy it and it's awesome. I just wish I didn't have to go though the career mode to unlock all the songs. I wanted to jump right into The Beast and the Harlot.
My only complaint is the cord is just about 2 feet too short for me to comfortably play from the couch. I will buy a USB extension cord next time I am in an electronics store and that problem will be solved.

You know there are plenty of cheats you could find on-line to unlock all the songs. If your version has practice mode you can just go into that and pick any song you want also, however it doesn't count towards your overall completion of the game.
And good luck on that F chord, the game might slightly help you with your rhythm though. Besides, the F chord is way overrated anyway.

The PS2 cheat codes are different from the Xbox cheat codes and the game hasn't been out long enough for anybody to figure them out. I'm sure I will be able to find them in a few days I think only the first 2 tiers were available in practice mode but I will check next time I play it.
My only realistic expectation of transferable skill is rhythm and some coordination. I need to play the F chord because I am trying to play Hurt (Johnny Cash version). It is a very easy song except for that damned F chord. The whole song is made of 5 or 6 chords with a little arpeggio thrown in.

AAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!
Guitar Hero keeps crashing my Xbox. I've been able to get through only 2 complete songs without crashing and it seems to be getting worse. I checked the forums and a lot of people are having the same problem. Red Octane really blew it this time. I will exchange it for another copy and see if that improves things.
