Jerry Falwell is dead

Praise Jesus! I dare say he will make a greater contribution to society as fertilizer than in his entire career of mind warping, hate mongering, and separating of the old and infirm from their social security checks.
"I hope I live to see the day when, as in the early days of our country, we won't have any public schools. The churches will have taken them over again and Christians will be running them. What a happy day that will be!" - Jerry Falwell, America Can Be Saved

Rejected! Hahahahahaha

Wow I can't believe he actually said that. Just from a financial point of view, did he realize how impossible it would be to only have a private school system in this country? What a dumbass.

They should play "Jesus He Knows Me" by Genesis at his funeral.

This is the same guy who blamed "the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians...the ACLU, People For the American Way" for 9/11 so the fact that he was a dumbass is a foregone conclusion.
Excellent idea about the song. I will tell the funeral coordinators to consult you for the set list.

hmmm...the only thing that came to mind when I heard the news was "ding, dong! the witch is dead. which old witch? the wicked witch..."
It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

This guy spewed the same kind of crazy things a drunk homeless guy on the street corner would say. Just because he was a reverend we are supposed to give him some kind of power and listen to what he has to say? There are alot of people with the "reverend" title who are completely pointless and contribute nothing to society. He was just one person in a long list of people who will not be missed.

I wonder if the Phelps gang will protest at his funeral. The only good thing Falwell ever did was condemn Phelps*.

*Phelps is a perfect example of Dan's point.
