Serendipity

I was at the copier next to my cube this morning and overheard a conversation that I thought was hilarious. My co-worker (let's call her Sally) was explaining that her mother had taken in a stray cat recently. Believing this cat to be female, Sally's mom decided to name the cat Lola. It was later discovered that the cat was male and Sally was given the task of renaming the cat.
At this point, I was giggling and had to interject "Don't you dare change the name. Lola is perfect!" Sally did not see the irony. She's younger and wasn't really familiar with the Kinks' song. I had her look up the lyrics and all became clear.
Unfortunately, she still wants to change the cat's name.
