Remember what happened to Jaws?

Rina's comment on Gary's journal reminded me of something I wanted to talk about... Sharks fans booing the Canadian national anthem. I'm disgusted by this behavior. It only reinforces to the rest of the world what they already believe - Americans have no class and no respect.
Don't bother telling me about something another country's fans did so we don't seem so bad. It's irrelevant. We are supposed to be better than that. We are supposed to lead by example. We are supposed to be the good guys, right?
I hope the Oilers school the Sharks in game six and teach the fans a lesson in humility. I might just sing "Oh, Canada...."

Does not surprise me, these are the same people that cheer for Barry Bonds.

I'm staying out of the Bonds thing. I don't know enough about it to form an opinion.
Rina - Are you sure you want to become an American? Being Canadian makes it alot easier to travel!

I agree, it was very unclassy and uncalled for. It shows how dumb a lot of sports fans are. I think it's great to see Canadian athletes in professional sports. I love how the Dodgers just called up Russell Martin, a rookie catcher who was born and raised in Montreal. Eric Gagne, as most know, is also from Montreal.

As for Bonds, well...I am forced to cheer for him only because he is on my MLB fantasy league team. I drafted him with the idea that I was going to be able to successfully trade him and that trade never worked out.

"I bet at least half of the Americans couldn't answer the citizenship test questions correctly"
I think you give Americans too much credit. I doubt 25% could do it. It is shocking how few of us can point to Canada on a map, name the first president, or tell you what poem (later adapted to song) Francis Scott Key wrote.
