Full Size Truck Blues

Well, I have gone through 3/4 of the gas my Tundra came with. I usually don't let my gas get below 1/4 tank but I'm afraid to fill it up. It's going to be expensive and I have this awful dread of seeing the price. What have I done?!?

Get used to it, however gas prices have been "coming down." It's only about $73 to fill up my tank now, which I do about once a week. Take joy in the small things. For the record, I'm officially over SUV's and trucks. My next purchase will not involve either.

Here's something to think about. About a week ago I overheard a maintainance worker at my apartment complex talking about a Nissan Titan that he used to have. He said it was a Super Cab and a V8. He said that it cost him $125 every time he filled up the tank and that he got so fed up with it that after 2 months he traded it in for a Tacoma.

As for me, I wouldnt mind having a SUV or a truck, but I prefer smaller cars and I am still in the mindset that I can't deal with automatic transmission.

I did the small car thing but missed the utility of SUVs and trucks. I also tried driving stick and realized it wasn't worth it.
At least gas is a little cheaper in NV.

When the gas prices were at their peak I was spending around $200 a month, but I have to use premium gasoline. $200 is pretty low these days. With gas prices falling I only spent $155 last month and my car gets 20 miles a gallon.

I think that gas prices and all that stuff is relative to how much you drive. Your gas bill can be $200 a month even with a car that gets good gas mileage. My car has 22,200 miles in 19 months of ownership.

Well, it wasn't as bas as I expected. It only cost me $54 to fill up my truck. I ended up putting 18.55 gal in the 26.4 gal tank so I actually have about 1/3 left when it says 1/4.
