Guitar Pro

I got Guitar Pro from a coworker and tried it out. It is freaking awesome! Each Guitar Pro tab includes a MIDI version of the song which plays as the notes are highlighted. It also has a fretboard diagram (and keyboard for some reason) that shows the fingering for each note. Most songs have all instruments represented with separate tabs for each. Some even label the instruments by which member of the band plays it.
As if that isn't cool enough, he also gave me about 3,400 tabs including Bad Religion, Iron Maiden (lots of them), Blind Guardian, Helloween, Beatles, Cat Stevens, Mark Knopfler, Korn, etc. I think he has more because the titles only go up to L. I will ask him next week.
So, Dan.... I assume you will want a copy?

On a tangentially related note, I got a new X360 game called The Darkness. The voice of the Darkness, an evil being that possesses and torments the main character throughout the game, is provided by Faith No More singer Mike Patton.

You are correct in your assumption.

Does the character wear boxing gloves and torture gold fish?

I figured the lead singer from The Darkness would be the voice of The Darkness. However that would make for a very high pitched and laughable evil character.

Ummm... I haven't finished the game yet but there have been no boxing gloves or gold fish so far. I'll let you know if I come across any.
The singer of The Darkness might be more appropriate for a game about unicorns or transexual circus clowns.
I'll give you a copy of Guitar Pro when you visit in August.

That's all pretty cool, but I'd like to comment on the Mike Patton portion. That guy is a great vocalist. If you want 2 really good albums from yesteryear, get the Epic and Angel Dust albums!

I had Epic on cassette and listened to it constantly back in the day. I might just have to download it next time I'm feeling nostalgic.

Just for the record, I was wrong on the name of the album. It's called The Real Thing.
