Taking on Guitar Center
I am currently doing research on the possibility of selling guitars on ebay/website. The idea occurred to me when I was window shopping at Guitar Center and saw an Ibanez selling much cheaper than usual. I considered buying it so I could sell it on ebay and turn a small profit. Then I realized it would be much smarter to cut out the middle man.
There appears to be a pretty good profit margin on mass produced guitars (Jackson, ESP, Ibanez, etc. as opposed to custom/boutique guitars like PRS). I won't bore you with the math but, according to my research, I could make about $80-100 on each guitar that lists for $500. At this level, it wouldn't cost too much to get started but there is enough profit to make it worth the time. Niki will be investigating the process of creating a relationship with manufacturers/distributors.
I don't think we'll get rich this way but it might be a good way for Niki to earn some money while she goes to school. She could possibly earn a modest income and still have time for homework. I'm sure I have overlooked some major flaw in my plan but the idea is still in it's infancy.
Maybe I'll even give you guys the employee discount.

I'd probably be interested in a bass, but I just have one request. Don't keep it laying in your backyard until I get to Vegas :-)

LOL. Unlike you Gary, I'm not in the habit of leaving musical instuments to the mercy of nature. Anything left outside this time of year with a lower melting point than tungtsten turns to a puddle. THe forecast tomorrow is 116!

It's not much better here in the OC. It's been consistently around 95 with very little wind to speak of and ridiculously hot at night!
I should have moved back to my old apartment just for the summer.

At least it is only 4% humidity here.
