On the road with Dime
The last time I made a California trip, I stopped at Best Buy in Ontario for an impulse buy. I was in the mood to listen to Cemetery Gates and the only Pantera album I had was Vulgar Display of Power. I found a best-of CD/DVD combo for $10. It has been a long time so I forgot how many good songs Pantera had. I listened to it the entire ride home and many times since then.
I have really enjoyed "rediscovering" Pantera and would like to state for the record that Cemetery Gates is one of the best metal songs of all time. I also realized what a huge influence they had on the modern crop of musicians. It's easy to see their fingerprints on bands like Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, and pretty much all metal-core.

Well.... you are only about 17 years late on this discovery considering Cemetery Gates came out on the Cowboys From Hell CD back in '90. However you did say this was a "rediscovery" so I'll give you some slack. However I don't remember if I was really into metal in 1990? I think it took me another year or two after that.

That was about the time I started to really get in to metal beginning with Metallica and Megadeth. I always liked Pantera and had Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven on CD (which was stolen from my van in the parking lot of Gary's SDSU dorm). I just kind of forgot about them over the intervening decade.

I love the old Pantera and they were really good live. Vulgar Display of Power will always be my favorite by them. As for Far Beyond Driven, I only liked half of that album. There was a ton of filler on that one. Ditto for The Great Southern Trendkill. By the way, I agree, Cemetary Gates is one of the all time greats.
Aaron, I will never forget your facial expression when you realized that you got ripped off. It took me a few seconds to catch on. You have to admit that was an impressive robbery haha
