More Guitar Madness?
Hey everyone, hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend, even more so if you got to take an extra day off on Monday.
So, I think I've caught the guitar bug too. I dabbled with the bass years ago, and that didn't work out, mostly because I was too distracted by a myriad of things (trivia tournaments and trying to beat the CHOCDR) to really put the consistent effort into it. But I think now I'm willing to try again, and maybe find out once and for all if I have any musical talents in me.
So, I'm looking for a beginner's electric guitar. I'm definitely not looking for anything fancy, but something that I can work with and have fun with. If I get into it and make progress, then I can upgrade to a better guitar down the road, but for now I think I want to stick with something basic.
I'm not totally sure what kind of music I'd like to play, since I like a lot of different things. I think it's safe to say that I'm not into the harder rock that most of you are, that I would probably lean more towards the pop side of the spectrum, with maybe some classic or prog or 90s Brit alternative thrown in. If we were to make a new band (it can't be Twine since I was supposed to be the bass player in Twine) I would see myself as the rhythm guitarist.
So, with all that said, I think I'm leaning toward a Telecaster, with a Stratocaster a close second. I don't think I want a Squier version... although the Fenders are quite a bit more expensive. I'm also considering playing lefthanded, since I have slightly better finger coordination in my right hand.
Well there you have it. The can of worms has officially been opened once again. Any comments or suggestions that you guys have are always welcome. Thanks for reading. I'm James Southard, and I approved this message.
