The longest day
My Schecter arrives today but I'm stuck here at work. Fortunately, Jenny is staying with us this week so there is somebody home to sign for it. I didn't realize until I got the tracking info that a signature is required for delivery. I would have been screwed if we didn't have a house guest.
I have already informed Niki that I will be useless tonight and probably tomorrow. I may come out of the office long enough to eat dinner. Then it's back to the guitar. Niki will be taking Jenny to Cali this weekend so I will have nothing to do but sleep and practice until my fingers bleed.
My goal is to be able to play one complete song by Monday. This may seem like a lofty goal but I wont start with Dragonforce. I'm thinking about Jesus of Suburbia since it's incredibly easy. If that fails, there's always Mary Had A Little Lamb. For a little variety, I'll throw in some Blind Melon.

Due yourself a favor and don't play any songs where you need to tune down 1/2 step, i.e. 99% of Green Day songs. You could still play it but it's going to sound just a tad wrong.
Is it safe to assume we will not hear from you again until you have finished learning your first song?
That could be awhile.

I... am... so.. pissed... off! According to FedEx delivery was attempted at 5:50pm and nobody answered. By that time there were three adults, two children, and a high strung dog in the house. There is no way anybody wrang the bell, knocked, or even pulled up in front of the house. We would have known. Now I have to go to Henderson to pick it up tomorrow. They said they could try to deliver it again tomorrow but that would be kind of pointless.
I still have to work during the days so I wont be totally incommunicado.

If you want a really easy song to play, try In Bloom by Nirvana. Several years ago I was at Dan's house and I was able to play the first minute of that song just by looking at the tab. You know that I cant do anything on the guitar, so you can imagine how easy that song was.
Btw, don't bust out the Blind Melon until the encore part of your set. That's the song your fans are waiting for!

I picked up my guitar at lunch. No I just have to finish off the work day without exploding. It looks a bit different in person. The fret board is lighter wood (pictures look almost black) but the black pearl bat inlays are a lot dark because they aren't reflecting a flash. I'm not sure if that makes it cooler or not. I'm just happy to finally have it.
Gary - I'll keep In Bloom in mind. I thought I would start with Blind Melon to get the audience all amped up but you may be right. I'll let you know when I get my set list put together.
