Bad Religion at HOB

I saw Bad Religion at the House of Blues on Saturday night. Niki wasn't able to go because she had to work. Fortunately, I wasn't alone. I met up with a few members of a local atheist group that I joined recently. We had dinner and drinks at the HOB Restaurant before the show. They're good people and we had a lot of fun.
Latch Key Kids and Death by Stereo opened. Latch Key Kids pretty much blew but Death by Stereo wasn't bad. Bad Religion had a long set that including two acoustic songs though it was different from what Gary saw. They put on a great show as usual.
As we were leaving, a bouncer at the door was yelling over the din that there was a free after-party with the band in the lounge on the top floor. I don't think too many people heard him because few went up the stairs. My group went up and had a few drinks while we waited to meet Bad Religion. Unfortunately, Bad Religion never showed and we were eventually kicked out. I was obviously extremely disappointed. Oh well.

Is the local group called Atheist Peace?

I think the band is changing up the setlist for every show because they are doing so many. They are coming back here later this week for 4 more nights at the Anaheim HOB. I am not planning on going though.

Good one Gary but no. We are simply known as Las Vegas Atheists on meetup.com.
Bad Religion may have to start playing bigger venues. They sold out both previous nights in Anaheim, both in Vegas, and I'm guessing the next 4 in Anaheim will follow suit. What's next, the Pond?

I think they have some kind of steadfast rule that they wont play big venues. They did play Santa Monica Civic on the Stranger Than Fiction tour.

I'm kind of glad that they played Anaheim HOB when I saw them. Even though I was at the back of the venue, I still got a really good look at the band.

I totally agree. I like that they continue to play the small, personal venues. I'm just kind of shocked that they have become so popular. I still think of them as the band nobody had ever heard of (after 6 albums) 15 years ago. I don't feel so edgy anymore.
