Oh my! It has gone global.

Check out this news article from Italy that mentions a certain number. The official story is that he was inspired by The Da Vinci Code. The author of The Da Vinci Code is Dan Brown. Coincidence? I think not. You've got some explaining to do Dan.

Your Moment of Zen

I'm freakin' out man!

I stopped at 7-Eleven for some goodies on the way home from work yesterday. I made my selections and proceeded to the check-out counter where events transpired that I was scarcely prepared for. The check-out girl rang up my items and gave me a total that blew my mind. That's right. $6.66! I would have asked for a receipt (which I could frame) but I was struck by an overwhelming sense of DOOM.
I hope that the Evil Overlords will recognize my years of service. Many souls must have gone to the dark side thanks to my tireless efforts. I have recommended The God Delusion to at least enough people to earn an honorable mention.

Maybe Lightning Strikes Thrice

I'm not a big fan of Wendy's. It's not that I hate square burgers, but Wendy's is not a place that is on my radar as far as fast food goes. Today was different. Something was drawing me towards this place. Was it the fact that it's right across the street and I'm low on gas? Maybe. That's not the point. The point is that I HAD to go there. I pulled up and placed my order. Combo #6, medium size. "Thank you drive through." It was at the first window that I got the news. "Your total is $6.66." I thought to myself, what are the odds? But I suck at math so I just paid the guy and went on my way.
There is clearly something happening here. Something big.

The Number of the Beast Strikes again!!

Here on the car lot we have a Lancer GTS that we sit in front of Wal Mart everyday. I was the one designated to take it over there this morning. So I get in the car and look at the odometer and the trip counter was on. It was at 66.6 miles! So I had to call Aaron as soon as I got back knowing he would get a kick out of it and all I could hear in my brain was Gary laughing!!! That was the highlight of my day and that was at 9am this morning.

Xerox Poker League update #2

Game 2 didn't go so well for me. I consistently got cards that begged to see a flop (low pairs, weak aces, etc.) but was never able to draw anything to improve them. Seeing a lot of flops slowly drained my chips away and I found myself short stacked. Eventually I got a decent hand and I was able to double up and returned my chip stack to a respectable size.
The following hand wound up being the death of me. I had A-10 and raised pre-flop. Several people called. The flop was 7-8-9. I raised again and the chip leader called. The turn was an ace giving me a pair of aces and an open ended straight draw. I bet out again and the chip leader went all in. I was pretty confident with my hand because just about any cards that would make a better hand than mine should have been thrown away long ago. I put the guy on a bluff and called. It blew my mind to see him flip over a 5-6! I'm still trying to figure out why he didn't muck those right off the bat. He called a pre-flop raise with an off suit 5-6! What the hell?!?!?
Anyway, I finished 5th and didn't earn any points for the night. I am now tied for 2nd place (10pts) with another guy. First place has 17pts and third has 7pts.

Employee Number of the Beast

A coworker in the Helpdesk got a request to change an employee's official employee number. Why, you might ask yourself, would a person care what their employee number is? Because that number ended in 666. She requested the change on the grounds that it conflicted with her religious beliefs.
I would have offered to trade but I am not a CCDOA employee. On the other hand, it pleases me to know that she is tormented by her silly superstitions. If I knew her name I would send her an email from satan@hell.com. It would simply say "Gotcha!" She'd probably quit that day.
And in case you're wondering, her request was denied.

The parade of feline oddities marches on

A winged cat has been discovered in China. Are we seeing a trend of mutated cats lately? Are these X-Cats? Only time will tell. Much like Dan's infamous wings, these look to be comprised more of hair than anything else.
