Almost there!
Just a day and half until I begin my third week of vacation in 3 years! I almost wish I could just stay home and vegetate for the entire week. Vegas should be fun though. We have to be serious for a few hours a day while we look at houses but our nights are free to spend as we choose. I am very excited that the casino we are staying at (Stratosphere) features a Fat Tuesday! I can already taste the 190 Octane. Mmmmm.... Everclear.

I LOVE Vegas! That's one of the reasons we are moving there. The biggest reason is $$$. I can buy a nice house in Vegas for $250k. A small condo in O.C. (at least the parts of O.C. I would want to live in) starts at about $400K. That's not really an option for us.

You can get a good condo(some with 2 levels) here, built between 1980 - 1992, for $325K or $350K. The prices have come down and might come down more in the next 8 - 12 months.
A single family residence is a lot more. Those are the ones that start around $500K. But even those are coming down in value. A house in my parents neighborhood recently sold for $825K, about $100K less than it was a year ago

We just can't afford that though. We want a house, not a condo. $500k is way out of reach. We're looking at $200k to $250k. I appreciate the info though!

Niki, your welcome. May I ask how big the houses are that you are looking at terms of square footage? Also, how old are they?
I don't mean to pry, but I am curious only because I have seen the recent construction of the houses near the Silverton and am wondering if those are what you are interested in.

1200-1300 sq ft. Not huge. Just a starter home. We're looking at new homes in N.west Las Vegas. The ones around the Silverton are a little pricey for us.
