Mark your calendars

Guitar Hero III is scheduled for release in Q4 2007. Red Octane has announced that the guitars this time will be wireless. The guitar for PS3, Wii, and 360 will be modeled after the Gibson Les Paul while the PS2 will get a Gibson Kramer. Here are some of the songs (these might be "master tracks"):
Paint It Black - The Rolling Stones
Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins
Sabotage - Beastie Boys
The Metal - Tenacious D
My Name is Jonas - Weezer
Knights of Cydonia - Muse
Rock And Roll All Nite - Kiss
School's Out - Alice Cooper
Slow Ride - Fog Hat
Cult of Personality - Living Colour
Barracuda - Heart

Sold! That's not too bad of a list to start off with, however I could do without Fog Hat

Niki - You know you might actually enjoy it if you tried it.

Dan - It is a very good start indeed. I am especially excited about My Name Is Jonas. I could do without Fog Hat but I'm happy as long as they don't include Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John.

Even better news, prior to the release of Guitar Hero III. On July 24 - Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80's will be released. Aaron you might have to do some research but I think this will be exclusive to Playstation 2.
Here are 15 of the 30 songs:

Skid Row - 18 & Life
Faster Pussycat - Bathroom Wall
Asia - Heat of the Moment
Dio - Holy Diver
A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran
Twisted Sister - I Wanna Rock
Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy
Billy Squier - Lonely is the Night
Quiet Riot - Mental Health
Poison - Nothin' But a Good Time
Extreme - Play With Me
Ratt - Round and Round
Eddie Money - Shakin
The Police - Synchronicity II
The Go-Go's - We Got The Beat

Now this is going to kick some major ass.

Yeah, it does seem to be a PS2 exclusive at this point. However, I wouldn't be surprised if most or all of those tracks become available for download on xbox in the near future. Most of those songs don't interest me but it will be interesting to see what others are included. Holy Diver should be fun. "Mental Health"? Tsk tsk.

It's actually Metal Health...

That song list kicks ass. I definitely need to get that when it comes out. It even has my favorite Police & Twisted Sister songs!
